Definitions, characteristics and implementation of the legislation

Cookies are small text files that the sites that the user visit send and record on their computer or mobile device, to be then re-transmitted to the same sites at their next visit. It is thanks to cookies that a site remembers the user’s actions and preferences (such as, for example, login data, the chosen language, font size, other display settings, etc.) so that they do not have to be entered again when the user returns to visit the same site or navigates from one page to another. Cookies are therefore used for computer authentication, session monitoring and storage of information regarding the activities of users who access a site and may also contain a unique identification code that allows tracking of the user’s navigation within the site itself for statistical or advertising purposes.

The use of third-party cookies on this website is governed by the rules established by the third parties themselves; therefore, the data subject is invited to read the information on the processing of personal data published on the web pages reported in point 6 Purpose and List of Cookies used by the site.

Types of cookies: This website is analysed with a cookie scanning tool, to keep a list that is as accurate as possible. The cookies that can be detected are classified into the following categories:

  1. Necessary cookies: necessary cookies help to make a website usable by enabling basic functions such as page navigation and access to protected areas of the site. The website cannot function properly without these cookies.
  2. Preference cookies: these allow a website, in the event that the data subject has provided explicit and informed consent, to remember information that influences the way the site behaves or presents itself, such as the preferred language or the region to which the user belongs.
  3. Statistical cookies: used to process statistical analyses, such as analyses aimed at (i) assessing the effectiveness of the services provided through the Site, (ii) designing the Site, or (iii) measuring its “traffic”, i.e. the number of visitors, possibly classified based on the characteristics of interest (e.g. geographical area, time slot, etc.)
  4. Marketing, social and profiling cookies: they are used to monitor users on websites, in the event that the Data Subject has provided explicit and informed consent. Their intent is to display relevant and engaging ads for the individual user.

The processing of data for the purpose referred to in point 1 is necessary to fulfill your request and any refusal may limit and/or prevent the full use of the features and services on the site. The legal basis for the processing of your data for the purposes referred to in point 1 is legitimate interest, in compliance with Article 6, first paragraph, letter f) and recital 47, of the GDPR. The processing is necessary for the pursuit of the legitimate interest of the data controller or third parties, provided that the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject that require the protection of personal data do not prevail, taking into account the reasonable expectations of the data subject based on their relationship with the data controller. Activities strictly necessary for the functioning of the site and the provision of the navigation service on the site. The provision of the data indicated for purposes 2, 3 and 4 is optional on the legal basis of consent, in compliance with Article 6.1.a), and any refusal to process it does not compromise the functionality and services on the site.

When accessing the Site for the first time, the User will see an immediate pop-up banner containing the brief cookie policy, the link to this extended cookie policy and a series of functions for managing preferences regarding the cookies to be installed on their device.

In particular, through the functions contained in the banner, the user may:

  1. accept all cookies present on the Site, including those for targeted advertising, by providing the relevant consent;
  2. refuse the installation of all cookies present on the Site other than those strictly necessary for the correct functioning of the latter (i.e. the “Necessary Cookies”);

  4. close the cookie banner by clicking on the appropriate icon and continue browsing the Site while maintaining the default settings.

The Data Controller specifies that the “default” setting of cookies implies the installation of only Necessary Cookies.

In compliance with the provisions of the Guidelines, the Site has specific features that allow the choices made by the user to be stored for a period of at least 6 (six) months with reference to the release of consent to the use of cookies and tracking tools on the Site. After this period from the last choice made by the user, the same will be deleted and, on the next access to the Site, the user will be shown the aforementioned banner again.
